employment opportunities for Board Certified Family Medicine
Physicians to join our Family Medicine Residency Faculty team
located in Syracuse, New York. Faculty members work for the Family
Medicine Residency Program and assist in program outcomes,
including : Following ACGME guidelines of the residency program and
assisting in the recruitment and selection of residents. Providing
supporting scholarly productivity among residents. Maintain
collaborative relationships with peer educators; assisting in
resident assessment and progression (in partnership with the
programs milestones committee); assisting in the creation of an
inclusive, psychologically safe learning environment for all
members; Be a staunch advocate for the program and disciplines of
family medicine and community health across the institution,
regionally and nationally. Faculty members will maintain an active
clinical practice combined of seeing patients in their own primary
care office, newborn, adult inpatient and obstetrics desirable.
Faculty members routinely precept residents in the family medicine
clinic at the main hospital campus through their own clinical
practice, and frequently supervises medical students in all
locations. The provider will ensure compliance with standards of
care and practice in accordance with all established policies,
procedures, and guidelines used in the medical treatment facility
and request timely consultation or referral with appropriate
physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated. The
schedule for this opportunity is a traditional work week, Monday -
Friday, 50% clinical and 50% academic. Inpatient services roughly
five weeks per year including OB coverage and newborn care. Call is
roughly 2-3 times per month. The qualified candidate will exude
passion about academic medicine and demonstrate evidence of
comprehensive assessment skills, expert clinical skills, and
problem-solving abilities. Requirements : Doctor of Medicine (MD) or
Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree Successful completion of an
accredited Family Medicine residency program Board certified
through the American Board of Family Medicine or the American
Osteopathic Board of Family Medicine Current, unrestricted medical
license in New York, or ability to obtain Valid controlled
substance registration with the New York board of Pharmacy &
DEA Prefer 2 years of full spectrum family medicine experience If
