About the Role

Our client, an industry innovator in semiconductor automation systems, is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to lead the design, integration, and commissioning of complex automation and control systems. This hands-on role bridges mechanical, electrical, and software engineering disciplines—ideal for an engineer who thrives in R&D and high-tech manufacturing environments. The selected candidate will drive automation strategy and implementation across one-of-a-kind systems used in cutting-edge semiconductor research and production.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the design, development, and integration of custom automation and control systems
  • Program, test, and debug C# software within the Visual Studio environment
  • Develop and maintain PLC programs using Ladder Logic or Structured Text
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to refine and implement control solutions
  • Support system wiring, diagnostics, and real-time troubleshooting
  • Document system configurations, schematics, and integration processes

  • What We're Looking For

  • 5–7 years of experience in automation controls or systems integration
  • Strong C# programming skills in Visual Studio; experience with object-oriented design
  • PLC programming experience (Ladder Logic, Structured Text)
  • Knowledge of serial communication protocols (RS232, RS485, RS422) and industrial networking (DeviceNet, EtherCAT, Modbus)
  • Hands-on wiring experience (low voltage up to 48VDC; high voltage up to 480VAC a plus)
  • Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical, or Controls Engineering preferred
