About the Role
We’re looking for a Product Manager focused on Cost Optimization to drive strategic product improvements, profitability, and lifecycle efficiency across SUPER73’s e-bike lineup.
In this role, you’ll take ownership of the product roadmap for existing platforms, balancing cost, performance, and design integrity while aligning global market needs. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with design, engineering, sourcing, and sales teams to identify cost-saving opportunities, streamline production, and optimize value — all while maintaining the distinctive character that defines every SUPER73 product. This is a strategic, hands-on role that blends business acumen, technical understanding, and creative problem-solving.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Collaboration : Drive accountability and collaboration alongside Design and Sales teams to develop the long-term product strategy and roadmap.
- Market Alignment : Ensure cross-market alignment and effective segmentation for targeted global markets, incorporating regional compliance and safety standards.
- Tradeoff Resolution : Evaluate and resolve tradeoffs between cost, performance, aesthetics, and manufacturability to achieve optimal product outcomes.
- Go-to-Market Integration : Partner with Marketing and Sales to define product positioning, pricing, and messaging for new launches and product refreshes.
- Financial Ownership : Take ownership of the product P&L, with accountability and compensation tied to performance and profitability.
ADDITIONAL KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Roadmap Ownership : Define and manage the roadmap for existing e-bike platforms, prioritizing lifecycle updates, cost reduction, and platform scalability.Cost Optimization Strategy : Lead initiatives to reduce costs and improve margins without sacrificing quality or brand integrity.Value Engineering : Analyze BOMs, materials, and production methods to identify efficiency opportunities through design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-to-cost (DTC).Supplier Collaboration : Work with sourcing and OEM partners to identify cost-effective component solutions and negotiate favorable terms.Lifecycle Management : Oversee product updates, consolidation, and end-of-life transitions to ensure continued competitiveness and operational efficiency.Data-Driven Decision Making : Use market insights, financial data, and performance KPIs to prioritize roadmap and cost-down initiatives.Continuous Improvement : Champion cross-functional best practices in product performance, sustainability, and operational excellence.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or Industrial Design (Master’s preferred).5–8 years of experience in product management, cost engineering, or operations within e-mobility, consumer hardware, or automotive sectors.Proven success in defining and managing product roadmaps and cost-down programs.Strong grasp of mechanical / electrical systems, BOM management, and manufacturing processes.Experience working with international suppliers and OEMs.Financial fluency and demonstrated ownership of product profitability or P&L performance.Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.Passion for mobility innovation, design, and the SUPER73 brand.Nice to Have
Experience in DFM, VA / VE, or Lean manufacturing principles.Familiarity with PLM or ERP systems (Arena, SAP, Netsuite).Knowledge of battery systems, controllers, and connectivity in e-mobility products.Personal interest in cycling, e-bikes, or powersports.Location : San Clemente, CA
Salary Range : $100-125,000 depending on experience, skill set.
