About the Opportunity :
Requirements and Qualifications :
1. Minimum of five (5) years of verifiable experience working as a Diesel Mechanic, specifically with semi-trucks (heavy-duty commercial vehicles).
2. Demonstrated expertise in advanced diagnostics for diesel engines and electronic systems (e.g., engine control units, ABS, HVAC).
3. Proficiency with diagnostic software (e.g., Cummins Insite, Detroit DDDL, CAT ET) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
4. Strong knowledge of diesel engine theory, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
5. Valid Driver's license.
6. Possession of a DOT Certification is highly preferred or the ability to obtain one(employer will pay to get one).
7. Must own a complete set of tools appropriate for heavy-duty diesel truck repair.
8. Must be able to pass a federal DOT drug test.
9. High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a technical or vocational school program in diesel technology is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities :
1. Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on a variety of diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension systems, and other components of semi-trucks (Class 8 vehicles).
2. Perform preventive maintenance inspections and services (PMs) according to established schedules and procedures.
3. Conduct thorough diagnostic testing using specialized electronic tools and software to accurately identify the root cause of complex mechanical and electrical malfunctions.
4. Execute repairs and replacements of major components, including engines, transmissions, differentials, and turbochargers.
5. Maintain detailed and accurate records of all repair work performed, parts used, and hours worked.
6. Ensure all work adheres to safety standards and governmental regulations (e.g., DOT compliance).
7. Communicate effectively with management and drivers regarding vehicle status and repair needs.
8. Keep the shop area clean, organized, and safe.
