The Role
We're seeking a certified Pharmacy Technician to provide specialized pharmaceutical support for clinical trials as an independent contractor, with primary focus on drug preparation, administration, and accountability for investigational products including injections. This role involves managing complex pharmaceutical preparations across our three Southern California locations while ensuring strict compliance with FDA regulations and Good Clinical Practice guidelines.
What You'll Do
- Prepare sterile injectable medications per protocol specifications
- Reconstitute investigational drugs using aseptic technique in controlled environments
- Assist with administration of injections to clinical trial participants under physician supervision
- Calculate dosing and perform pharmaceutical calculations for weight-based and BSA-based protocols
- Maintain strict drug accountability for all prepared and administered investigational products
- Document preparation, administration assistance, and waste according to regulatory requirements
- Ensure proper storage and handling of temperature-sensitive injectable medications
- Support complex dosing schedules including dose escalation and de-escalation protocols
What We're Looking For
Required :
Current California Pharmacy Technician license with sterile compounding certificationPTCB certification plus additional injectable medication trainingMinimum 3 years experience with injectable medications and sterile preparationDemonstrated expertise in aseptic technique and sterile compoundingExperience with pharmaceutical calculations and dosing protocolsValid driver's license and reliable transportationStrong attention to detail and documentation skillsKnowledge of pharmacy law, GCP principles, and USP standardsPreferred :
