Facility Setting : Telemetry Stepdown – Acute Care Hospital

Start Date : December 8, 2025

End Date : March 9, 2026

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Nursing Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM)

Hours per Week : 36 (guaranteed)

Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

Holiday Requirement : Every other holiday

Charting System : Epic EMR

Unit Size : 26 beds

Patient Ratios : 1 : 4 or 1 : 5

Scrubs : No specific color required; wear your own

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1990-$2130

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or proof of application in process

Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA)

Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Telemetry, Stepdown, or acute care nursing jobs

Experience with Epic EMR preferred

Ability to float to similar clinical units as needed

Must pass a comprehensive drug screen (drug-free campus)

Telemetry Stepdown Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the Telemetry Stepdown unit

Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using central tele monitoring systems

Administer medications including Cardizem, Lasix, renal dopamine, and nitroglycerin

Care for patients with CHF, COVID pneumonia, Afib with RVR, tachy / brady syndrome, and syncope

Utilize Bipap, Cpap, and high-flow oxygen therapies (no ventilators)

Collaborate with hospitalists, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams

Document all patient care and assessments accurately in Epic EMR

Participate in unit orientation and ongoing professional development

Float to similar units as required, maintaining safe patient ratios
