The Chief Engineer is responsible for ensuring proper operations, maintenance, service, and repair of all equipment, supporting Aimbridge Hospitality's goals of guest satisfaction, cost control, and profitability. They oversee and participate in the Preventative Maintenance program, ensuring all rooms and public spaces meet company standards. Management associates are expected to work as much of each day as necessary to fulfill their responsibilities; OEM associates are subject to overtime, which is calculated accordingly.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field; or a 2-year college degree with 3+ years of experience; or a 4-year college degree with at least 2 years of experience.
- Supervisory experience required.
- Current certification as required by governing agencies (e.g., HVAC, pool operation, electrical), specific to the property.
- Current certification and licensing to operate and repair hotel boilers and chillers as mandated by law.
- Valid driver's license for the applicable state.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to evaluate options quickly and accurately.
- Ability to work well under stress and maintain composure.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to understand complex information and data, and adapt accordingly.
- Effective listening and conflict resolution skills.
- Basic financial literacy and arithmetic skills.
Responsibilities
Provide attentive, friendly, and courteous service to guests and employees.Maintain regular attendance per company standards.Present a professional appearance and adhere to uniform standards.Follow all safety and operational regulations.Complete required certifications (e.g., Food Handlers, CPR, First Aid).Train, supervise, and schedule engineering staff.Manage payroll hours and contribute to guest service scores.Conduct performance appraisals and participate in hiring processes.Attend staff meetings and provide training.Respond to emergencies and maintain safety protocols.Manage energy conservation efforts and safety inspections.Handle guestroom maintenance requests promptly.Maintain operational manuals and warranty files.Respond to alarms and emergencies appropriately.Promote positive relationships and communication within the team.Ensure pool and spa compliance with health codes.Use radio etiquette properly and chair safety meetings.Conduct property tours and manage lost and found items.Perform additional duties as assigned by management.Benefits
