JOB DESCRIPTION

WOAI / KABB is seeking an experienced News Photographer . This role requires proficiency with professional video cameras, related equipment, lighting, composition, and storytelling. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment of daily local news gathering.

Successful candidates will be highly motivated, with a proven track record in news production. Excellent interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude are essential. Ability to meet constant deadlines across all platforms and a natural problem-solving ability are important.

Please note : This position requires working nights, weekends, and holidays. It is specifically for a broadcast video journalist, not a still photographer.

Requirements :

• 1-2 years of shooting experience and knowledge of editing and video / photo equipment.
• Ability to edit and shoot all types of stories, conduct live shots, and gather / edit natural sound packages.
• Passion for storytelling is essential.
• Strong editing skills in non-linear edit systems, on both desktops and laptops.
• Excellent people skills , strong work ethic, and a great attitude.
• Team player who can produce good stories under tight deadlines.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record; able to operate ENG news vehicles.
• Physically fit to lift and carry 30 lbs. or more regularly.
• Flexible schedule to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Provide a link to your online demo reel or website showcasing your recent work.
