Overview :

Houston, TX : Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Shop Lead (2nd Shift) to oversee and perform a variety of mechanical operations and tasks on turbomachinery components and assemblies, ensuring compliance with specifications and quality requirements.

Essential Duties :

• Provide oversight and leadership to 2nd shift craft workers including Balance, Machining, Mechanic, and Welding.
• Deliver concise hand-over notes to 1st shift regarding status, issues, and opportunities.
• Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble turbomachinery including compressors, gearboxes, pumps, turbines, and other rotating equipment.
• Manage shipments and deliveries; operate overhead cranes and large forklifts to offload oversized goods; maintain shipping paperwork.
• Inspect and record component measurements using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) per customer, OEM, and industry standards.
• Apply basic understanding of dynamic balancing equipment to build and balance rotating elements.
• Apply basic machining knowledge including tool setups and operations.
• Coordinate material movement between work areas and shipping / receiving.
• Identify non-conformities and work with Quality / Production leadership for resolution.
• Analyze workload and capacity, reprioritizing tasks as needed.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment while enforcing safety policies.
• Lead and mentor team members, ensuring efficiency and adherence to quality standards.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
