About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President for Reinsurance Underwriting, with a focus on North American casualty treaty business. The successful candidate will be a key senior member of the reinsurance underwriting team, responsible for the analysis and pricing of various casualty lines, including general liability, workers' compensation, auto, umbrella / excess, and professional lines. This role involves developing and maintaining strong broker and client relationships, leading underwriting reviews, and partnering with cross-functional teams to structure optimal treaty solutions. The AVP will also be involved in setting and executing business plans, monitoring portfolio performance, and representing the company in the marketplace. Applicants should have 5 to 10 years' of progressive experience in casualty underwriting, with a strong background in North American casualty lines. A proven track record of profitable underwriting, strong analytical and negotiation skills, and the ability to maintain relationships with key brokers and cedants are essential. The role requires a leader with a mentorship mindset, capable of guiding and developing team members. A bachelor's degree is required, and professional designations such as CPCU, ARe, ACII, or equivalent are preferred. The ideal candidate will be proficient in IT and data analysis, with the ability to leverage systems for underwriting and reporting, and must be willing to travel and work flexibly to meet business needs.
