Innovation Design Manager - Southern Fulfillment Center

Duties / Responsibilities

Efficiently use and train designers and interns in AutoDesk Fusion, SolidWorks, Lumion and other software tools, as required, to produce accurate concept models and final production models.

Manage team of designers on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Track performance goals and perform timely reviews of employees.

Lead the team with ideation and concepts using sketching and drawing skills.

Manage PlayCore 3D model printing services at Auburn Research Park studio.

Lead early concept work and development of new products. This includes, but is not limited to, metal tubing, rotationally molded plastic, routed high density polyethylene, rope cable, and sheet metal products.

Convert product concepts into prototypes, work with 3D models and eventually to finalized models and assemblies, which will eventually impact shop drawings and installation manuals.

Work with a sense of urgency and work well under the pressure of a fast-paced environment.

Work with PlayCore company designers and drafters for project completion and check output for accuracy.

Study models, build prototypes and participate in playground installations to increase knowledge of GT products.

Work within commercial safety guidelines on all new product designs.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Industrial Design.

Minimum of six months experience with 2-D and 3-D computer modeling techniques for new product design.

Demonstrated

Must be proficient in computer software for design work and layouts

knowledge of materials and methods of manufacturing

ability to work and meet deadlines

physical ability to perform job functions, which may require field installation of new products

This position will report to the SVP Innovation in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Auburn and Fort Payne, Alabama. Worksite -
