Were actively seeking a talented Director & Actuary to join our Life Insurance Pricing team in Newport Beach, CA or Omaha, NE. This role follows a hybrid schedule of four days in the office (on-site). Candidates open to relocating to either of these locations are encouraged to apply.

As a Director & Actuary - Life Pricing youll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by playing a key role in Pacific Lifes growth and long-term success by leading product development initiatives for our life insurance business. You will work closely and collaboratively with numerous areas including Pricing and Product Development, Risk Management, Modeling and Sales within the Consumer Market Division and across the enterprise.

You will manage a team of 3 actuarial professionals in the Consumers Market division. Your colleagues will include actuaries and analyst which have a wide range of expertise. The Life Pricing team works in a fast paced and evolving marketspace, and we value professional judgement, nimble learning, and leadership skills.

How youll help move us forward :

Lead and develop a pricing team; oversee product pricing activities for the pricing team and perform analysis or duties that requires pricing expertise.

Lead product pricing, support product implementation, execute project plan with on time high quality deliveries.

Stay current with all regulatory changes and other new pricing or risk management developments that could impact our product lines.

Ensure product development follows product pricing guidelines, meets all regulatory requirements, and meets all internal profit / risk governance standards; secure all required product approvals.

Collaborate with all stakeholders, including marketing / sales, investment management, valuation, risk management, legal, and operations, to balance the competitiveness, profitability, and risk for the products being priced to deliver leading edge life insurance products.

Work with a team of support staff to grow talent and provide development advice and support.

The experience you bring :

FSA with 6+ years of related experience in actuarial pricing and product development.

Direct experience developing life insurance products.

Bachelors degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field.

Strong management, team-building, and communication skills.

Excellent project management and business partnering abilities.

Proven leadership with a strong sense of urgency.

Ability to understand the big picture and mobilize initiatives in ambiguous situations.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

FSA with 10+ years of actuarial experience.

Prior experience developing life insurance products.

Ability to multitask with shifting priorities under tight deadlines.

Self-starter with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

VBA coding experience and proficiency in related programming languages.

Experience with actuarial modeling and statistical analysis programs, particularly Prophet and R.

Base Pay Range :

The base pay range noted represents the companys good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$198,810.00 - $242,990.00
