Job description

Cashier Position At Gbmc Hospital

Under general supervision but according to established policies and procedures, operates a cash receipt system to record, collect, and distribute cash transactions. Performs a variety of bookkeeping duties and closes out cash register at end of scheduled shift.

Experience : Six months' experience cashiering in order to be familiar with cash register functions

Skills : Skill in basic financial analysis for bill computation, payment processing and discrepancy recognition Skill in written and oral communication Ability to perform non-complex arithmetic in receiving money and making change Ability to operate the cash office with minimal supervision or assistance.

Patient & Workplace Safety :

  • Employee has knowledge and understanding of patient and workforce safety as it relates to job duties.

Patient Population :

  • Demonstrates competency in the delivery of care and applies the knowledge to meet age-specific needs if applicable.

    • Principal Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Accepts sealed daily cash deposits from Point of Service Cash locations
  • Makes bank deposits daily and forwards copies of validated deposits slips to Finance
  • Makes change for departments, employees, and or visitors to the hospital.
  • Collects daily cash logs and verifies the deposit to the log
  • Disburses petty cash reimbursements upon review for correct documentation and submission of paperwork to ensure adherence to policy.
  • Monitors and distributes pre-numbered GBMC cash receipt tickets and deposit slips to the unit. Accounts for the receipt numbers issued by recording name and sequence of receipts on an internal log.
  • Reconciles cash and receipts at end of scheduled shift. Ensures cash drawer has proper level of cash, obtaining change as necessary.

    • Pay Range : $16.74 - $23.21

    Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
