Pay: $50 to $55 per hour depending on experience.

Job Description: RN BHU. Preference given to candidates available for a full schedule through the end of January and the first week of February. Dayshift/Nightshift, 12-hour shifts. Start date: 1/17. Minimum compliance requirements must be met prior to starting; full compliance profile must be completed within two weeks after the start date. Position is Per Diem for 26 weeks. Required Compliance Items: Active nursing license verification BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications as applicable Proof of MMR and Varicella vaccination or attestation of vaccination/declination

The Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care to individuals experiencing mental health conditions, emotional disturbances, or behavioral disorders. The RN works as part of a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care to promote mental and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, including risk assessments and crisis evaluations.

Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.

Administer medications and monitor for side effects or therapeutic responses.

Observe and document patient behavior, mood, and progress in treatment.

Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare providers.

Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.

Provide therapeutic communication, de-escalation techniques, and crisis intervention as needed.

Ensure a safe and secure environment by maintaining awareness of patient behaviors and applying unit safety protocols.

Participate in treatment planning meetings and contribute nursing input to interdisciplinary team discussions.

Support patients with activities of daily living when required.

Comply with all regulatory standards, including HIPAA and Joint Commission requirements.

Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred.

Licensure: Current RN license in the state of practice.

Certifications: BLS required. CPI or PMAB certification preferred (or required within 30 days of hire).

Experience:

1-2 years of nursing experience required;

Behavioral Health or Psychiatric Nursing experience strongly preferred.
