No relocation is provided for this opportunity./ph3Job Summary/h3pEffectively plan and guide Engineering department, ensuring quality product at a minimum cost./ph3Essential Duties and Responsibilities/h3ulliLeads the site engineering department for the execution of new projects, maintain current production lines in optimal performance, Expansion plans and facility modifications./liliProvide engineering assistance to assure plant, machinery and processes are at an optimum level./liliProvide assistance and make recommendations to Division Engineering on a timely basis./liliAdministrate maintenance management software./liliEnsure plant is in compliance with OSHA and local, state and federal environmental regulations./liliRoutinely evaluate and review employee performance./liliWrite validation, user requirements, equipment specification and other documents as needed./liliPromote and support a Lean Manufacturing environment within the facility./liliImprove processes and procedures to manufacture a quality product at a minimum cost./liliQuotes new molds, engineering services, automation, etc. for new and existing customers. Develops suppliers and maintain audit. Develops design concepts for new molds./liliProvide leadership to engineers. Provide and schedule tools and supplies for departments. Assume responsibility for various engineering projects as assigned./liliFacilitate meetings with the customer both on and off site to determine the needs, requirements, and customer specifications. Establishes relationships with customer and tooling suppliers in pursuit of win?win results and ongoing business./liliProvide and schedule training for the department. Purchases tooling related equipment in accordance with the company policy./liliResponsible for project cost accounting and delivering projects on schedule and at budget./liliProvides a Customer Service attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards./liliMaintain machine and plant equipment drawings./liliManage and oversee the functioning of the site engineering and maintenance groups./liliDevelop initial project scope, timeline, savings and cost estimations./liliWrite Project and Capital Request and project justification documents./liliDevelop equipment requirements./liliResearch new technologies and methodologies to use in the plant./liliPresent justification to management and/or customer to attain approvals./liliLead project teams and team meetings as required./liliPerforms other duties as assigned based on business needs./liliConforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules./liliExhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance./liliContributes to continuous process improvement efforts to reduce scrap, cycle times, improve efficiency, and eliminate waste./liliProvides a Customer Service attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards./liliMaintains a clean, orderly and safe workstation and environment at all times./liliConforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and safety rules./liliExhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance. Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs./li/ulh3Additional Responsibilities/h3h3Education/h3ulliEducation or Equivalent Experience: Bachelors in Engineering or Science field is preferred./li/ulh3Work Experience/h3ulli8-10 years of experience/lili8+ years of managerial or supervisory experience in manufacturing environment required./li/ulh3Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities/h3ulliSix sigma Black belt preferred./liliStrong mechanical background and experience with CAD and SAP systems a plus./liliKnowledge of manufacturing processes, workflows, production equipment and industrial techniques./liliMust have effective problem solving and interpersonal skills./li/ulh3License and Certifications/h3h3Physical Requirements/h3pSedentary-Exerting up to 10lbs/4kgs of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time./ph3Additional Requirements/h3ulliMedical Device manufacturing requires strict adherence to standards. Working environment is a manufacturing facility, which houses plastic injection molding machines. Must tolerate odors, fumes, particulate and loud noises generated from plastics manufacturing and molding processes./liliMust work constructively in an environment that may be stressful due to competing resources while at all times maintaining company confidentiality./liliMust be able to work in a controlled clean room and/or white room environment requiring special gowning. Will be required to follow hygiene and gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body./liliAbility to stand and sit for extended periods of time./liliRequires occasional bending at the waist, twisting (at the torso and neck), crouching, climbing, kneeling, balancing, reaching (including overhead), pushing, pulling, grasping, holding and manual dexterity./liliMust transport oneself to and from other areas of the facility when necessary./liliAbility to understand verbal or written directions, which may include reading English and understanding symbols and warnings./liliMust have good visual acuity.
