Job description

Seeking CT Technologist to provide services to eligible beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Iowa City (hereinafter referred to Iowa City VAMC). Start Date :

Immediate pending clearance by the VA Medical Center Duration : 3 to 9 months Shifts : Day Shift -Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm (one hour unpaid lunch).
No services required on holidays unless on call.
On call (in rotation with other CT Techs) - one to two weeknights per week and one weekend per month.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Interpreting the orders provided by the physician or other prescribing medical professional.

Explaining what will happen during the CT scan to patients.

Positioning patients properly to take the necessary images.

Administering IVs that contain contrast dyes to enhance imaging.

Examining images to ensure they are usable.

Updating patient medical information Cleaning and maintaining CT scan equipment.

Keeping inventory of CT scan supplies and making orders for supply restocks as required.

Qualifications :

You must be a U.S.

Citizen to apply for this job.

Graduate of an accredited Radiological Technology program or equivalent.

Must have a current (ARRT) (CT) - certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Active BLS Certification Proven experience working as a CT technologist.

Must be proficient in written and spoken English.

Provide proof of Health Record as required.

Employee Pay Structure : Base Pay : $45.59 + $5.09 health and welfare stipend, up to 40 hours a week (Taxable) Per Diem : $29.18 per hour Non- Taxable / Stipend (50 miles or more) On-call (Beeper) Rate : $5hr Call-back / Response Rate : 1.5x base pay Sick Leave (up to 7days in a year) Paid federal holidays.
