Must-Have :

Management of vasoactive medications

Experience with various surgical drains and chest tubes

Familiarity with ventilators and CRRT

Ability to manage invasive lines, including arterial lines and PA catheters

Experience with transvenous pacemakers

Management of invasive devices, including IABP and Impella

Description :

This position is for an RN specializing in Cardiovascular Intensive Care.

The facility has 457 licensed beds and is recognized as a teaching hospital.

It is designated as a Chest Pain Center and a Stroke Center of Excellence.

The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit comprises 14 private rooms, including two negative pressure rooms.

Common patient types and diagnoses include STEMI (unstable), cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, and thoracic surgery.

The unit also handles cardiac surgical procedures such as CABG, valve replacements, and dissections.

Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1 : 2.

Nurses in this unit will work under the supervision of charge nurses, who may or may not have patient assignments.

The unit has 24 / 7 support from respiratory therapists and intensivists.

Technology used in the unit includes an EMR system, IV pumps, and various monitors.

Traveling nurses will be expected to work every other weekend and 75% of holidays.

Requests for time off can be approved up to six days, excluding holidays.

Scheduling follows a six-week cycle.

Scrub color required for this position is navy.
