Precision Tooling and Die Fabrication Specialist
Eligible for relocation assistance
Step into a day where craftsmanship meets problem-solving. You start by donning PPE, confirming your area is safe and 6S-ready, and reviewing blueprints and part specs. From there, you plan setups, select tooling, and machine components to exacting tolerances. You might weld-repair a tool steel insert, heat treat it, hand-fit a fixture, and then assemble and try out a die in the press. When something isn’t quite right, you troubleshoot fast, tear down and correct the issue, and keep production moving.
What you will do
- Wear all required safety equipment and maintain a safe work environment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and keep the work area clean and organized following 6S standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, verbal instructions, and part specifications.
- Plan the setup and operation of various machine shop tools, considering material types, tolerances, and tool specifications.
- Weld repair and perform heat treatments on different materials, including tool steels.
- Inspect work using precision measuring and gauging tools during and after machining.
- Perform hand operations to produce and fit jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies.
- Assemble and test tools and dies, troubleshoot issues, and correct problems to meet specifications.
- Tear down, repair, and reassemble tooling on the bench or in the press as required.
- Assist tool room personnel and cell leaders with troubleshooting tooling during production runs.
- Pull and set up tooling as needed.
- Process required paperwork.
Additional responsibilities
Maintain valid forklift and overhead crane operator certifications.Support production and tooling teams with troubleshooting and innovative problem-solving.Perform other duties as required.Regular and punctual in-person attendance is mandatory.Your strengths
