Day in the Life — Marshfield, WI
When you step onto our shop floor in Marshfield, WI, you start by reviewing fresh work orders and blueprints. You plan your setup, select tooling, dial in offsets, and run a first-article on a CNC lathe or a 3–4 axis vertical machining center. Throughout the shift, you watch cycle performance, tweak feeds and speeds, and make on-the-fly adjustments in G- and M-code to keep quality on target. You keep your cell clean, handle routine maintenance, and partner with teammates to fine-tune processes so every part ships right the first time.
What You Will Do
- Set up and operate CNC lathes or mills per specifications and production schedules.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machining strategy.
- Monitor part quality and machine performance; adjust programs, tooling, and offsets as needed.
- Troubleshoot issues and perform routine maintenance to sustain optimal uptime.
- Maintain an orderly, safe work area and follow all shop safety practices.
- Collaborate with peers and supervisors to improve processes and boost throughput.
What You Bring
High school diploma or equivalent; machining coursework or certifications are a plus.Hands-on experience running CNC lathes or mills.Solid grasp of machining fundamentals, tooling selection, and cutting strategies.Ability to read and apply technical documentation, including prints and schematics.Strong attention to detail with a quality-first mindset.Problem-solver who can work both independently and within a team.Comfort with shop safety standards and best practices.Technical Strengths
