Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states.
We are seeking a Part-Time Floral Designer to work out of our Princeton, NJ location. The Floral Designer creates quality flower arrangements, bouquets, wreaths, terrariums, and other items. This person will deliver a high-level of customer service to customers. Responsibilities may include answering phones, taking orders, data entry, inventory management, helping with deliveries, and light shop maintenance.
Starting pay is 17.00 per / hour (Must be willing to work some Saturdays)
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years of experience working in a flower shop
- Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
- Wide range of floral arrangement knowledge; daily work orders, wire-services, funerals, weddings, etc.
- Knowledge of how to properly use floral tools
- Ability to maintain effective relationships with other management staff, employees, and the general public
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Time management skills in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form
Responsibilities
Consult with clients on to effectively communicate design, price, and delivery detailsAbility to handle cash and use a cash registerAssist with supervisor with prepping event workDecorate venues and event spacesOpening and closing duties as neededMaintain inventory including watering, cutting, conditioning, and cleaning plants and flowersCreate arrangements, bouquets, and other itemsInform customers about the care, maintenance, and handling of various itemsCreate and change in-store and window displays, designs, and looks to enhance the shop’s imagePerform office and retail service duties such as serving customers, answering telephones, selling giftware items and receiving payment as neededPerform general cleaning duties in the store to ensure the shop is clean and tidy as neededUnpack stock as it comes into the shop as neededEmployees must cooperate with the licensee and department staff in any inspection, inquiry or investigation, as being an ADA compliant businessAdditional tasks and responsibilities may be assignedWhy Community Options?
