Job Description
We're looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee all day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accuracy, compliance, and smooth departmental performance. This role manages financial reporting, reconciliations, collections, tax activities, and cross-department communication. You'll also support process improvement, team development, and internal collaboration.
What You'll Do
Financial Operations & Reporting
- Monitor and analyze accounting data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and review financial statements, bank reconciliations, retention reports, and A / R reviews.
- Coordinate contract billing, insurance pre-billing, subcontractor loan payments, and purchase orders.
- Maintain and update accounting methods, policies, records, and QuickBooks.
- Oversee collections, customer payment discrepancies, and credit references.
Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable
Process and review A / R deposits, scanning, and incoming payments.Support A / P reviews, weekly reports, and vendor activities.Manage retention payable, contract updates, and related documentation.Assist with A / R & A / P functions as needed to keep workflow on track.Tax, Compliance & Regulatory
Handle sales & use tax, IFTA mileage reports, quarterly IFTA filings, and ITIN withholding / state payments.Prepare annual filings including 1099 / 1098s, IRP renewals, business license renewals, and Secretary of State filings.Maintain DMV records, titles, and insurance documentation.Department Leadership & Collaboration
Lead and supervise the accounting team to ensure accuracy and efficiency.Maintain department schedules, calendars, and systems (including Verizon Connect and Smartsheet users).Communicate with managers across the organization to support alignment and teamwork.Support sales meeting preparations and cross-functional projects.Systems, Technology & General Support
Perform journal entries and inventory adjustments.Troubleshoot minor issues with phones, computers, and office equipment.Maintain email setup, user access, and basic IT configuration updates.Order business licenses, checks, and deposit slips as needed.Required Skills
