IHDLab is looking for a talented and personable On-Call Phlebotomist to join our team. This role combines hands-on specimen collection with a strong client relations focus. The ideal candidate will not only be skilled in venipuncture and patient care but will also play an integral part in maintaining productive relationships with our healthcare partners. Your work will directly contribute to both patient satisfaction and operational excellence .
P rimary Duties
Patient Interaction & Sample Collection
- Perform blood draws (venipuncture and capillary), and collect other specimens accurately and safely.
- Label, handle, and prepare samples for transport to preserve specimen integrity.
- Provide clear instructions and reassurance to patients to ensure a comfortable experience.
- Follow all HIPAA, infection control, and health & safety protocols.
Client Engagement & Support
Act as a liaison between IHDLab and medical offices, partner clinics, and healthcare providers.Support client satisfaction by addressing questions, providing timely updates, and maintaining open communication.Track client-specific requirements and help monitor performance benchmarks such as test volume and turnaround time.Assist with onboarding new partners, including training on collection procedures and submission guidelines.Coordinate with the operations and business development teams to support service quality.Administrative & Operational Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for both patients and clients.Manage inventory of phlebotomy supplies and coordinate replenishment as needed.Identify and report any workflow or quality issues to appropriate team leads.Recommend improvements to streamline internal processes and enhance service delivery.Minimum Requirements
Certified Phlebotomist (CPT, RPT, or equivalent credential).At least 2 years of phlebotomy experience in a clinical, hospital, or laboratory environment.Familiarity with specimen processing, labeling standards, and safety procedures.Basic understanding of customer service best practices.Preferred Experience
Prior exposure to diagnostic labs, mobile phlebotomy, or physician office settings.Experience handling client communication and onboarding processes.Understanding of billing, insurance claims, or lab reimbursement systems.Key Skills & Traits
