Location : Middlebury, VT 05753 (Vermont healthcare jobs)\n

Setting : Surgical Services – PACU / ASU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit)\n

Assignment Length : Up to 32 weeks\n

Start Date : November 24, 2025\n

End Date : May 24, 2026\n

Shift : 10-hour days (6 : 30 AM – 5 : 00 PM), Monday–Friday, with rotating weekly and weekend call (average once a week and every 7th weekend), 30-minute call back\n

Hours per Week : 40\n

Estimated Weekly Salary : $2260–$2420\n

Holiday Requirement : Work 2 out of 4 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year's Day)\n

Documentation System : EPIC EHR\n

Floating : Not required\n

\n\nPACU RN Job Requirements\n \n

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Vermont or compact state)\n

Minimum 1 year of recent PACU or surgical services RN experience\n

Prior travel nursing experience required\n

Experience with pre-op, phase two post-anesthesia care, and patient discharges\n

EPIC EHR experience within the past 2 years (required and nonnegotiable)\n

Certifications : AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and AHA PALS (or ENPC equivalency)\n

Reliable personal or rental vehicle (public transportation not available)\n

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including rotating call and holidays\n

\n\nPACU RN Responsibilities\n \n

Deliver high-quality nursing care for patients in all phases of post-anesthesia recovery : admission, phase 1, phase 2, and discharge\n

Support multiple surgical specialties : Orthopedics, General Surgery, ENT, Podiatry, Urology, Ophthalmology, OBGYN, and Endoscopy\n

Perform unit-specific procedures : IV starts, venipuncture, EKGs, and patient monitoring\n

Collaborate with anesthesia and respiratory therapy teams for comprehensive patient support\n

Accurately document patient care using EPIC electronic health records\n

Participate in rotating call and respond within 30 minutes as needed\n

Work closely with the surgical services team to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care\n
