Google's Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) team works with policymakers, regulators, and third-party stakeholders to navigate the tests of public policy. The lead Policy Strategist for New York and North East states will be responsible for developing and executing sophisticated legislative and regulatory strategies on a wide range of issues impacting Google, including artificial intelligence, data privacy, content moderation, energy, competition, cybersecurity, privacy, and the future of work. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $182,000-$249,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
Responsibilities include monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting state legislation and regulations primarily in New York and across other Northeast states, with a focus on emerging technology policy issues such as AI, data privacy, content moderation, and energy. The role also involves developing and executing comprehensive policy strategies to influence legislative and regulatory outcomes, engaging directly in legislative and regulatory with elected officials, committee staff, and executive agency personnel to advocate for Google's official policy positions, and serving as the internal expert, advising business and product teams on the implications of emerging state policies.
