The primary purpose of your postion is to direct the Human Resources functions in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations also to ensure adequate and appropriate staffing of the facility's nursing department.
Duties and responsibilities :
Maintain written job descriptions and performance evaluations for each staff
Review all requests from department directors for new or replacmeent personnel
Maintain job applications for personell eligible to work in the facility (e.g. : job applications, resumes, reference cehcks, background checks, etc. of those persons meeting the elgibility requirements for the position in which they applied.)
Develop, implement, and maintain an adequate personnell record filing system
Ensure that the facility complies with current applicable federal and state employment regulations regarding wages, overtime, work hours, workers' compensation, etc.
Ensure new personnel are on-boarded and oriented to the facility and explain personnel policies
Perform miscellaneous duties pertaining to staffing
Personnel Functions :
Process all newly hired personnel information and forms
Review daily and update, as needed, employee timecards
Assist in the recruitment, selection, and training of competent personnel
Coordinate with employees all benefit programs and process all applicable paperwork regarding benefit enrollment
Monitor Worker Compensation claims and coordinate work between employees and the insurance carrier
Ensure all OSHA recordings and posting are complete
Assist in the counseling and discipline procedure
Arrange and process employee FMLA and other leaves of absense (as applicable)
Conduct exit interviews
Assist in recordkeeping and documentation of attendance and tardiness for nursing employees
Confirm license and certification and current standing with state approved agencies for new hires prior to orientation date
Maintains records of current certifications and licenses for nursing department employees
Staff Development :
Attend and participate in facility mandatory in-service training programs as scheduled (e.g. : OSHA, TB, HIPPA, Abuse Prevention, etc.)
Ensure that appropriate training records are on file for staff personnel
Facilitate quality orientation program
Education :
Must possess a high school diploma or GED
Experience :
Minimum of 1-2 years HR / staffing experience
