Tax Accountant / Audit Senior | CPA | Roanoke, VA

Our client, a reputable CPA firm in Roanoke, VA, is seeking an experienced Tax Accountant / Audit Senior to join their growing team. This firm offers excellent opportunities for career advancement and professional development in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Work closely with the Audit Partner to ensure appropriate procedures are performed for each engagement

Assist in governmental audit fieldwork and testing compliance with GAAP and auditing standards

Prepare individual tax returns including sole proprietorships (Schedule C), not-for-profit returns (Form 990), and partnership returns

Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals, small businesses, and partnerships

Perform monthly bookkeeping responsibilities for a variety of local businesses and not-for-profits using QuickBooks

Prepare and review financial statements for clients

Provide advisory services to clients on tax planning and compliance matters

Qualifications

Active CPA license required

Minimum 5 years of tax and / or audit experience in public accounting

Strong financial statement preparation and analysis skills

Proficiency in QuickBooks and bookkeeping functions

Experience with individual, partnership, and not-for-profit tax returns

Knowledge of GAAP and auditing standards

Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple engagements
