Travel Nurse RN - Psych - $2,032 per week in Manchester, NH

Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : Nursing Specialty : Behavioral Health Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Hours per Shift : 12 hours Experience : Minimum of 1 year in Geriatric Psych and Medical-Surgical experience strongly preferred. License : Valid state nursing license required. Certifications : BCLS, CPI Must-Have : - Geriatric psych inpatient unit experience - Experience with Foley catheter insertion and management - Experience with wound care - Familiarity with IV therapy and lift equipment - Ability to provide incontinence care and assist patients with mobility deficits Description : The position requires working on a locked unit with involuntary patients accepted. Daily safety checks and 1 : 1 observations are performed as appropriate. The unit is divided into two sections for psychiatric and behavioral patients. Patients are placed based on their level of cognitive ability and group participation. The average daily census is 25, with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1 : 6. Common patient diagnoses include psychosis, dementia with and without behavioral disturbances, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, and other acute psychiatric illnesses. Interdisciplinary support services are available, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Comfort with hands-on patient care and teamwork is essential for this role. Travelers will be required to float to an adult behavioral health unit as needed. Every other weekend availability is required. Knowledge of the Epic charting system is necessary. Training will be provided for specific equipment and procedures used on the unit.
