Tradesperson - Carpentry

Safely performs journeyperson level tasks in the fabrication, construction, maintenance, alteration and repair of fixtures, equipment, structures, buildings, and built-in components for Texas Tech facilities. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Travel required up to 25%.

Major / Essential Functions :

• Assess, prepare, and gather materials needed for each project.
• Perform carpentry tasks including working with all grades and types of hard woods, plywood, sheet rock, and waterproof sheeting.
• Build effective support systems and be efficient in wood and metal stud framing.
• Maintain records of materials and labor expended for each project or job assignment.
• Attend scheduled meetings and trainings required to maintain technical skills and qualifications.
• Must be proficient in math and able to calculate, measure, and cut pieces with minimum waste.
• Ensure that all jobs are safely accomplished to meet established standards of performance and quality.

Hourly Pay Range : $14.04 - $18.27 - $22.45
