Catering / Commissary Driver

Sun Country Airlines is seeking a Catering / Commissary Driver to prepare and deliver assigned products to aircraft and retrieves spent carts. Responsibilities include verifying flight documentation to ensure correct items are loaded before heading to ramp, interacting with Customer Service team members to identify and resolve problems, and complying with standard operating procedures regarding driving, positioning the unit at the planes, securing the work platform, and loading and unloading carts on and off the planes.

Essential roles and responsibilities include reasonable accommodations to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Ability to work in a team environment, while also taking ownership of assigned catering carts and assigned deliveries independently. Proficiency driving lift trucks. Ability to drive and maneuver catering truck to rear of the aircraft and raise box of catering truck to the aircraft. Deliver, remove, and clear aircrafts of carts, food, beverage, essential supplies, and catering waste back and forth between elevated box (15ft) of catering truck and the aircraft in an efficient manner. Perform safety inspection of assigned items, including assigned truck, at beginning and end of the shift. Coordinate with the manager and catering team to turn assigned planes at the same time and communicate with other departments as necessary. Prepare soda and beverage carts, assist with preparing Personal Supply Kits. Ability to service international and domestic charter and scheduled flights. Relay information to supervisor on any interruption to normally scheduled assigned service to planes and work together on solutions and alternatives. Put delivered supplies in appropriate area. Maintain cleanliness of workspace. Other duties as assigned.

Required qualifications include being at least 18 years old, effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively. Ability to anticipate needs of coworkers and passengers in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Possess a valid driver's license with the ability to pass a continuous driving records check. Must be able to obtain and maintain an MSP SIDA badge with a CBP Seal.

Preferred qualifications include airline experience and forklift experience. Operating a box truck with and without air brakes.

Compensation : Rate : $18 USD per hour. Classification : Part-Time, Non-Exempt. Work Location : Minneapolis, MN (onsite). Supervisory Responsibility : None. Work Environment : This job operates both indoors and outdoors. When working indoors, this position will be working in a warehouse environment. While working outdoors, the employee will be exposed to various weather (such as rain, sleet, snow) and hot and cold weather. While working outside, the employee might work during the day or night. In addition, this position is exposed to loud noises from arriving and departing planes.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands or finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. The employee will frequently push or pull carts weighing up to 200 pounds. The employee is required to frequently work at heights around fifteen (15) feet. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, low light and nighttime vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
