Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the local Money Management Program (MMP).
- Recruit, screen, train, and supervise volunteers. Match volunteers with clients and assist with problem resolution. Serve as backup to volunteers as needed
- Initiate outreach for money management referral referrals and screen appropriately.
- Oversee the financial monitoring component for volunteers and provide responses to the statewide coordinator as appropriate.
- Process bank notification forms for Representative Payee accounts and forward to them the Statewide Coordinator as appropriate.
- Conduct three meetings / training with volunteers per year.
- Serve as agency liaison with Statewide MMP and attend trainings and meetings as needed.
- Maintain and staff the local Advisory Council and conduct three meetings per year.
- Submits monthly statistical reports to the MMP Statewide Coordinator in a format established by the program.
- Negotiate with local financial institutions to provide banking services to Elders involved with the Program
- Maintain close working relationships with banks and referral sources
- Conducts the Annual Money Management consumer survey and works collaboratively with the Client Services Director to remediate any issues.
- Attend individualized and group supervisory sessions, training, and meetings as necessary and as assigned
- Communicate with Case Managers and other staff regarding money management or other client issues.
- Participates in policy and procedure development, as well as other quality assurance / improvement activities.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has supervisory responsibilities over 45 to 70 volunteer bill payers and monitors and a part-time program assistant.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in human services or a related fieldTwo years' experience working in a community-based settingTwo to three years of supervisory experience and / or experience working with volunteers preferredAbility to speak comfortably to groups of volunteers and professionalsGood communication and training skillsPrior experience in banking for financial management preferredAble to relate to persons with diverse backgrounds, skills, and abilitiesExperience working with older adults and diverse populations preferredExcellent communication, documentation, a nd problem-solving skillsGood management and organizational skillsPublic Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF)
