Forest Lake Animal Clinic, located in Seabrook, Texas, proudly serves the communities of Seabrook, El Lago, Taylor Lake Village, Kemah, Clear Lake City, and the Galveston Bay area. We are a full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care. Our hospital includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house digital x-ray capabilities, a closely supervised hospitalization area, and indoor boarding kennels with outdoor walking areas. If you are a passionate and caring team player please apply today! We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our growing hospital to provide exceptional care to our patients! You will work alongside other skilled Vet Assistants, support our Credentialed Veterinary Technicians and DVMs in the daily flow of the hospital.

Position Skills :

• Assist DVMs and credentialed veterinary technicians with appointments, prepping patients for surgery and minor procedures, surgical assisting, and pro-actively set up for any procedures or diagnostic tests
• Restrain animals in a safe, efficient, and caring manner
• Obtain accurate vitals, obtain medical histories, and / or note any changes of patient's condition to DVM
• Collect and prepare laboratory samples such as fecal, urine, and ear cytologies
• Care and maintenance of all medical equipment including laboratory machines, surgical packs, anesthesia machines, and any other tools that are essential to daily operations
• High quality client communication on patient updates and questions

Position Requirements :

Pay range of $13.35-$20.90 / hour based on experience
