Job description

Safety Tech – Heavy Civil & Mission Critical Projects 📍 Location :

  • Columbus, MS (Travel Required) 🏢 Company : Gregory Construction Gregory Construction is seeking an experienced Safety Tech to oversee safety compliance and hazard mitigation efforts across multiple construction sites.
  • This role is ideal for a safety professional ready to step up from entry-level responsibilities and take a more active leadership role on-site.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Implement and enforce Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs) on assigned projects.
  • Conduct site safety inspections, hazard assessments, and job safety audits.
  • Lead toolbox talks, pre-task planning, and task hazard analysis sessions.
  • Monitor trenching, excavation, and fall protection operations to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans.
  • Mentor Site Safety Techs and help train field personnel on safe work practices.

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • 3–5 years of construction safety experience (mission critical project experience strongly preferred).
  • OSHA 30 required; CPR / First Aid preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction surveying, trenching, excavation, and fall protection safety practices.
  • Ability to communicate and enforce safety standards effectively.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to various job sites.
