About The Position

ID : 72515643 Shift : 12H Nights 12 hr Nights, EOW, First to Float Description : Unit # beds : 45 beds total - adult medsurg and pediatric medsurg combined, pediatric experience preferred - Certs : BLS required, PALS preferred- Ratios : 1 to 5 - EMR : Cerner - Charge Nurse : Yes - team lead - does not take pt assignment - Nurse Aides : Yes - they do 8 or 10 hr shifts, from 1am-7am there is no tech - Weekend Requirement : every other or 4 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule - Scrub Color : navy - Tele : Nurses do not need to know how to read and interpret - Vents : No- Hospitalist or Intensivist in house : hospitalist available but not 24 / 7- IV Team : No- RT 24 / 7 : Yes- Pharmacy 24 / 7 : No - 10 hr days - Shifts : 12 hrs 7-7, self scheduling to some degree, schedules made out about 30-45 days in advance - Floating : Not required but they can float to tele or OB if they want and have that experience - Floor specific orientation : 2-3 days, one of those days - half of the day is spent doing a scavenger hunt- Common diagnosis / Types of patients : medsurg patients, COPD, post-op, GI bleeds, OBGYN surgeries, ortho- Additional Notes : Must have 2-3 years in specialty, very fast paced unit, patients move in and out quickly, avg length of stay is 3 days, may see protonix or heparin drip, pediatric experience preferred, if traveler does not have that experience they will not take pediatric patients Cancellation can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13 week assignment, 3 shifts for assignments that are less than 13 weeks Charting BSN License to Trauma Level : 3 Care Shift Notes : 12 hr Nights, EOW, First to Float Required , PALS Preferred Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Contract Weeks : 91
