Account Technician
Job Requirements : Do you have strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and enjoy assisting others? If so, Monroe County's Sanitation and Zoning Department might have the job for you! We're hiring for a full-time Account Technician. Our Account Technician performs accounting support activities to include accounts payable, budget monitoring, database management, and associated mandated reporting requirements. This position provides exemplary customer service to internal departments and members of the public through in-person and phone interactions and addresses and resolves customer questions as able, and refers complex inquiries and requests to the appropriate staff. Our Account Technician maintains vendor information, assists staff with payment of invoices, records payments in the financial system. This position preps for monthly Committee meetings to include writing public hearings for zoning, submitting the notice to the paper and prepares them for mailing. This position also analyzes and reviews all invoices and credit card expenditures, reviews reports, posts activity to general ledger and accounts payable.
Other Experience and Qualifications : Four years' work experience in accounting or bookkeeping is desired. Exemplary customer service skills are required. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired will also be considered.
