Post Closing Specialist

The Post Closing Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all post-closing activities related to escrow transactions are completed accurately and efficiently. This includes ensuring that all documents are properly executed and delivered and that all funds are accurately disbursed. The responsibilities include : reviewing and verifying the accuracy of all closing documents, coordinating with branch to obtain any missing information or documentation, verifying wire confirmations, certified checks and confirming that all funds have been received and file is balanced, completing Branch Wire Checklist, initiating all wire requests with National Wire Desk, disbursing funds according to the closing statement and ensuring all parties receive the correct amounts, preparing and maintaining accurate and complete post-closing files, processing 1099's, and handling post-closing issues such as stop payments, outstanding checks, refund issuance. The specialist also provides exceptional customer service to all parties involved in the transaction.

The specialist acts as the main point of contact for Escrow Officers within an assigned market. This includes identifying Escrow Officer needs and taking proactive steps to maintain positive experiences, as well as resolving customer complaints and issues in a timely and effective manner. The specialist also provides post-closing support with critical escalations.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate a demonstrated understanding of the real estate transaction including knowledge about the different aspects of the "life of a file". The competencies required to perform the job successfully include : self-motivation, a people-first approach, technical ability, critical thinking / problem solving, partnership / collaboration, oral / written communication, quality assurance, adaptability, and building collaborative relationships.
