Tax Analyst

YOUR ROLE
The tax division of Genworth is looking for a Tax Analyst to join our growing team. You will assist with the preparation of the federal, state, investments and international compliance and will assist with tax accounting for quarterly and annual reporting requirements. You will work with a cross-functional team of tax professionals, as well as business partners, to ensure the highest level of quality in our tax compliance and reporting processes. You will be involved in significant tax planning initiatives involving acquisitions, corporate restructurings, consolidated returns and international issues. We are committed to building the tax technical, analytical and business skills of our professionals and have a robust training program.
What you will be doing
Assist with the preparation of the federal, international, and state income tax returns for members of the consolidated group, as well as separate company filingsPrepare and review quarterly and annual GAAP and STAT tax provisions for certain legal entitiesServe as lead process owner for certain technical areas included in the company's provision and compliance processesAssist with the preparation of multi-year plans and operational budgetsAssist in the gathering and preparation of documentation related to the company's income tax provisionReconcile data between systems to ensure integrity and accuracyAnalyze and reconcile general ledger tax accounts and prepare internal reportingAssist in special projects, as neededWhat you bring
BS in Accounting, finance, or related fieldAt least 1-4 years of experience tax accounting, compliance and reportingWorking knowledge of federal and multi-state tax compliance processBasic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and ASC 740Proven ability to communicate across all levels within the organization (both verbal and written)Ability to effectively work independently in a flexible and potentially remote environmentAbility to adapt to changes in business needs and respond quicklyProven track record in improving efficiency and effectiveness in processes and tasksKnowledge and experience conducting tax research databases, such as CheckpointStrong analytical skills, detail oriented with excellent organizational skillsAbility to multi-task, prioritize and complete projects in a timely mannerNice to Have
