Job Summary : Responsible for requesting, collecting, interpreting, and inputting environmental compliance certifications for the parts created and used by Moxtek.
The EHS Assistant will also maintain consistent correspondence with Moxtek's vendors to continuously update the part list and corresponding environmental health and safety certifications.
Internal communication among teams is required to stay updated on changes within Bill of Materials and part. Those changes will be documented by the EHS Assistant on an external database.
The EHS Assistant should be a motivated self-starter with integrity and the ability to be flexible with different tasks and responsibilities that may emerge during employment.
Essential Functions :
- Request, receive, and input environmental certifications into a computer program.
- Manage data and documentation to keep a consistent record of information received and requested.
- Assist EHS manager in anticipating and controlling chemical and physical hazards to ensure company's safety program is effective in protecting employees from hazard.
- Assist EHS manager in maintaining and disposing of chemical waste in a safe and effective manner.
- Able to learn and become proficient in new computer programs.
- Work cross functionally with other departments to establish a steady line of communication.
- Read and understand technical jargon and interpret vendor responses.
Responsibilities :
Able to self-manage and motivate while working on largely independent projects and tasks.
Education and Experience :
- Experience in or pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemistry, environmental science, health, or safety (preferred)
- On-the-job or personal project experience doing similar / related tasks.
Competencies :
To perform the essential functions of this position successfully, you should demonstrate the following competencies.
- Operate a PC, including Excel, MS Office, and other related programs. Competent in file management to stay organized, backing up work.
- Able to learn new software programs (Visual, GreenData Manager,) and others as needs arise.
- Strong interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- General knowledge of chemistry and safety procedures when handing / interacting with chemicals.
- Strong English competency, both written and spoken
