Overview : Join a dedicated team providing critical care transport services across the Southeastern United States. This role involves delivering expert patient care during inter-facility transfers and supporting hospital units with clinical duties within the paramedic scope of practice. The position requires adherence to established protocols and the ability to function effectively in high-pressure environments.
Key Responsibilities : Perform advanced life support interventions during patient transport, assist as a relief ambulance driver when needed, and ensure accurate documentation of patient care and billing information. Collaborate closely with other critical care paramedics and transport nurses to maintain high standards of patient safety and care.
Education & Certifications :
- Minimum of 3 years recent paramedic experience providing emergency care with ALS units in field or transport settings.
- Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record and current driver safety training.
- Current FP-C or CCP-C certification to operate in a flight paramedic capacity.
- Certifications in International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) or equivalent, Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from recognized organizations.
- Completion of National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses 100, 200, and 700.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification to be obtained within six months of employment.
Experience & Skills :
Thorough knowledge of emergency medical procedures, rescue techniques, hazardous materials incidents, and pre-hospital care equipment.Ability to remain calm and professional under stressful conditions, demonstrating compassion and effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.Proficient in safe ambulance operation and emergency vehicle driving protocols.Physical capability to lift and move patients and equipment, with regular lifting of 85 pounds and assistance for heavier loads up to 150 pounds.Understanding of age-specific physiological, psychosocial, developmental, and spiritual patient needs.Visual acuity meeting or exceeding 20 / 40 (corrective lenses allowed) and the ability to work in various physical environments, including confined spaces.Work Environment : This role may involve exposure to infectious materials and environmental conditions typical of emergency medical services. Flight paramedics have a maximum duty weight limit of 240 pounds in uniform.
