Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to : researching legal information, generating and reviewing documents, filing court actions and documents, interacting with victims / witnesses / defendants, assisting staff in other related tasks, and working to achieve and enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the Department of Law. This is an experienced para-professional that is capable of working independently to carry out most assignments typical to the prosecution of cases, Supervision Received Works under general supervision. Essential Duties & Responsibilities These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive.May perform other duties as assigned. Responsible for coordination of daily demands of case management and crowd control through the gathering of information for effective and efficient prosecution. Serves as a liaison for theDepartment and the general public to assess the nature of inquiries and directing them to the appropriated division or personnel. Prepares discovery responses, which includes gathering information and documents from various agencies, determines which information and / or documents are responsive for legal argument Reviews, maintains, and organizes documents for discovery on litigation cases. Compiles evidence and supporting information by searching records, discovery documents, databases, third parties, and interviewing victims and witnesses. Prepares correspondence and legal memorandum Conducts legal research Draft simple agreements and documents in your area of practice Perform necessary due diligence related to the subject transaction Responsible for maintaining data related to division(s) performance Maintains records to ensure timely responses to motions, other legal documents and correspondences are complete. Negotiates to limit the scope of request and oversees responses to request Ensures accurate case files and records. Provides effective customer service, communication and interpersonal techniques regarding interaction with coworkers, supervisors, and the general public. Operates computers and works with database, spreadsheets, word processing, presentation, e-mail, and other related software. Confers with appropriate staff to obtain necessary signatures and receive instructions; Performs other duties as directed to process cases. Transcription duties as assigned. Front desk / reception area duties as assigned. Decision Making May work independently or with other staff with responsibility for completion of assigned tasks. Leadership Provided Routinely provides work group leadership, guidance, and / or training to less experienced staff.
