Job Title : HR Generalist

Work Hours : 7 : 00am to 4 : 00pm, Monday through Friday

Pay Range : Depends on experience

Position Summary :

The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting Hamstra Heating and Cooling's workforce by managing and overseeing various human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance in a one-person HR department setting. The position includes the integration of risk and safety management. This position ensures that HR policies and practices align with company values and support a positive workplace culture. The HR Generalist will work closely with leadership and employees to foster engagement, enhance retention, and maintain compliance with employment laws and regulations.

Requirements :

  • 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in a generalist role
  • Certifications - SHRM-CP or HRCI-PHR
  • Experience in a one-person department setting
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • End to end knowledge of recruitment process
  • Experience with benefits administration
  • Compliance and Policy management
  • Experience in risk / safety / workers compensation management
  • Performance & Employee relations management
  • Strong skills in MS Office applications (Power Point, Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • HRIS software system experience a plus
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Advanced organizational skills and attention to detail
