Job Description
Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer to support production quality in our electronics and assembly operations. This role focuses on improving process performance, reducing defects, supporting new product launches, and ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Production Quality
- Monitor and improve quality performance across SMT, soldering, and assembly lines.
- Perform process and product audits to ensure adherence to standards and work instructions.
- Track and report KPIs such as scrap, defects, and non-conformance trends.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions (5Why, 8D, Ishikawa).
Continuous Improvement
Drive scrap reduction, yield improvement, and process optimization initiatives.Lead cross-functional projects focused on cost savings and productivity.Improve inspection methods, standard work, and quality tools.Customer & Internal Support
Resolve customer quality issues with structured problem-solving.Support customer audits and investigations.Work with APQP / Program teams on quality deliverables for current production and new launches.New Product Launch
Support PPAP, control plans, PFMEA updates, and process validation.Ensure readiness and smooth integration of new products into production.Team Collaboration
Work closely with production, engineering, and maintenance to stabilize processes.Train operators, inspectors, and technicians on quality standards and best practices.Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics, or related field.MBA is a bonus but not required.Experience
5+ years in manufacturing or production quality (electronics / automotive preferred).Hands-on experience with SMT, soldering, assembly, or related processes.Proven experience in scrap reduction, audits, problem-solving, and process improvement.Preferred Certifications
IATF 16949 or VDA 6.3 AuditorCQI (15 / 17), IPC-A-610, J-STD-001GD&T (ASME Y14.5)APQP / PPAP / PFMEA knowledge
