General Merchandise Expert
Starting hourly rate : $16.50 USD per hour. Working at Target means helping all families discover the joy of everyday life. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM) areas of the store. This team conducts inventory accuracy, merchandise set-up and maintenance and pricing processes for all areas of the store. Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by supporting pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.
The role of a General Merchandise Expert can provide you with :
- Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest first culture across the store.
- Experience in retail business fundamentals including : department sales trends, inventory replenishment, and process efficiency and improvement.
- Experience executing daily / weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals.
As a General Merchandise Expert, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include :
Creating a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks.Engaging with guests in a welcoming way when they need assistance.Executing daily tasks assigned to you by your leader to help achieve goals that align with business priorities including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and putting up promotional signs for GM areas.If certified, operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures.Executing processes including changing prices to products, merchandise set-up and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed by your leader for all areas.Learning how operational procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.Being knowledgeable about the resources, products, and services available in the total store, and specific to your area, to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience.Demonstrating a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.Supporting guest services such as back-up cashier, and digital fulfillment processes.All other duties based on business needs.This may be the right job for you if :
