Temporary On-Site Mental Health Counselor (3-4 month project)
Position Overview : The On-Site Mental Health Counselor plays a vital role in supporting employees' emotional and mental well-being at a client company location (or multiple locations). This role involves building trusted relationships through one-on-one counseling, group sessions, and ongoing wellness programming designed to enhance resilience and mitigate daily stressors related to work and personal life. The counselor provides compassionate support for personal, family, and workplace concerns, helping employees feel more supported and empowered to perform at their best. This position reports to a supervisor at Health Advocate while working closely with client contacts daily.

Physical Requirements :
This position requires a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday. While performing counseling and wellness activities, the counselor will be on their feet for extended periods, conducting group sessions or engaging in one-on-one interactions. The role also requires occasional lifting of materials and setting up wellness program activities or equipment. Frequent use of a computer for documentation, communication, and resource management is necessary, involving tasks such as typing, using a mouse, and reading information on a screen. The position also involves regular phone and video communication for counseling sessions, consultations, and coordination with clients.

This position is on-site, requiring the counselor to be physically present at the client location(s). The environment will be dynamic, with a variety of tasks ranging from individual counseling sessions to leading group wellness activities. The workspace should be set up to allow for confidential and comfortable interactions with employees, ensuring privacy during counseling sessions. The role may also require occasional travel between locations depending on the number of client sites the counselor supports. The position involves interaction with employees across different departments and functions, and the counselor must adapt to the work culture of each location.

This position is fully on-site and embedded within the Trust and Safety operational environment. The counselor must be comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced setting that may include exposure to discussions of distressing content. The workspace includes a private, designated office for confidential counseling and group programming, with access to standard office equipment and secure data systems.
