Overview

Our client, a major PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Services) entity owned by 20 non-profit health plans serving >

33 million members and benefits manager of government programs including Medicare and Medicaid, seeks an accomplished Pharmacist.

Job Title : Certified Pharmacist

Location : 100% Remote

Duration : 6 months contract w / possibility of extension or conversion to FTE role (depending upon performance)

Pay Rate : $50 / hr – $55 / hr (W2)

Schedule :

  • 5 days per week, coverage required Monday through Sunday
  • Shift times vary between 8 : 00 AM and 12 : 30 PM
  • Training : Monday – Friday, 8 : 30 AM – 5 : 00 PM (4 weeks; camera required)

Must-Have Requirements :

  • Current and valid Pharmacist License (in good standing)
  • PharmD or RPh certification
  • Strong clinical pharmacy and drug product knowledge
  • Experience with prior authorization processes
  • Job Description :

    Performs prospective and / or retrospective drug utilization review and appeals per State and Federal regulations. Participates in the distribution of clinical drug information and educates providers and staff regarding the use of pharmaceutical treatment regimens. Complies with all corporate and facility standard operating procedures, policies, guidelines, and work instructions.

    Responsibilities :

  • Provide prior-authorization services for formulary drugs
  • Develop programs to provide optimal pharmacy care to patients
  • Participate in drug utilization review programs and retrospective reviews of provider reimbursement
  • Recommend medication regimens to prescribers per plan guidelines
  • Collaborate with clinical personnel in assessing treatment guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with Federal and State laws and standards of pharmacy practice
  • Maintain pharmacy records and complete all required training and development courses
  • Participate in on-call rotation as required
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls to assist with medication reviews, product awareness, and prior authorizations
  • Minimum Qualifications :

  • Licensed Pharmacist
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree
  • 1+ year of pharmacy experience
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in Managed Care, PBM, or Health Plan environment
  • Strong communication and provider interaction skills
