Travel Nurse Job Details Location : Midland, Texas 79701 (West Texas healthcare job) Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse Contract Unit : Labor & Delivery (L&D RN) Start Date : January 12, 2026 (mid-January start preferred) End Date : May 4, 2026 Duration : 16 weeks (minimum 13-week nursing contracts considered) Shift : 3x12-hour day shifts (07 : 00 - 19 : 00) Hours per Week : 36 Estimated Weekly Salary : $2250-$2310 Patient Ratio : 1 : 2 Unit Beds : 10 Daily Census : Approximately 20 patient visits per day Orientation : 36 hours Registered Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience in a U.S. hospital Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state (pending license accepted with submission, must be active before start) BLS, ACLS, NRP, and NIHSS certifications required AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certifications preferred Previous charge nurse experience required Cerner electronic charting experience preferred Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions allowed) Must pass on-site drug screening Ability to float to Antepartum unit as needed Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities Rotate through triage, antepartum, labor, circulate, and transition (no postpartum) Deliver comprehensive clinical care to neonates, infants, and adult patients Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and multiple births Administer medications, blood products, and manage IVs and drips Perform and interpret external and internal fetal monitoring Support breastfeeding, lactation, and provide patient education Participate in emergency interventions and postpartum hemorrhage management Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure patient safety Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members Experience the best of Texas nursing jobs and West Texas hospitality while making a difference in maternal and newborn care.
