Key Responsibilities

Provide inpatient care to adult and geriatric patients with various medical and surgical conditions, including COVID-19, post-surgical, telemetry, diabetes, renal disease, COPD, pneumonia, and cellulitis.

Monitor telemetry for patients with stable dysrhythmias and interpret cardiac rhythms.

Administer medications, including IV insulin, blood products, and heparin.

Manage wound care, wound vacs, drains, and oxygen therapy, ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Utilize Med / Surg telemetry systems, Pyxis medication system, and SBAR communication protocol.

Respond to rapid response team activations and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members.

Required Qualifications

Valid state nursing license in Illinois.

Minimum of 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience.

BLS certification.

Experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation.

Ability to document and communicate effectively using SBAR.

Knowledge of IV and medication administration protocols.

Preferred Experience / Skills

Previous charge nurse or leadership experience.

Experience in a hospital setting managing adult and geriatric patients with complex conditions.

Familiarity with post-surgical and telemetry patient care.
