Job description

Payroll Coordinator

An aerospace company located in Fife, WA is currently hiring for a Payroll Coordinator to join the manufacturing team. This role will be responsible for accurately processing payroll for the employees in Washington. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with ADP payroll systems and is confident in managing payroll functions with minimal oversight. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and takes pride in getting the details right. Applicants must be located in WA for consideration, as this opportunity is 100% onsite in Fife, WA.

Pay : $28 / hr. - $32 / hr. (depending on relevant qualifications, tenure, industry, etc.)

Location : Fife, WA (100% Onsite)

Schedule : Standard Morning Shift Monday - Friday (40 Hours a Week)

Contract Duration : 6 Months Contract To Hire Guaranteed W2 Employment Through Aston Carter

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Process and review weekly payroll for all hourly and salaried employees using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Ensure payroll accuracy by verifying hours, earnings, deductions, bonuses, and adjustments.
  • Manage payroll compliance, with a strong understanding of Washington wage and hour laws, overtime rules, and state / local tax regulations. Knowledge of California laws and regulations would be preferred, but not required, to assist with payroll processors at our other divisions.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure timely updates to employee data, tax information, and direct deposits.
  • Collaborate with HR and Accounting to reconcile payroll data, benefit deductions, and general ledger entries.
  • Respond promptly to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Support quarterly and year-end activities, including W-2s, tax filings, and audits.
  • Stay current with payroll-related laws and ADP system enhancements to ensure continued compliance and efficiency.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements

  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience in a manufacturing or similar environment required.
  • Strong proficiency with ADP (Workforce Now preferred) required.
  • Must be ITAR-compliant.
  • Experience in processing payroll following Washington laws and regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll laws, wage and hour compliance, and tax regulations.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with large data sets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to confidentiality.
  • Highly Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in processing payroll following California laws and regulations.
  • Experience supporting both hourly (non-exempt) and salaried (exempt) employee groups.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing timekeeping systems and shift differentials.
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.

    Pay and Benefits : The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
