Your Mission : The Unit Manager is primarily responsible for overseeing day-to-day patient care, supervising, directing, and developing nursing staff, and reporting to the Director of Nursing to ensure quality patient care within the facility. This role is required to be a dependable and personable liaison between residents and their families. This position assists the Director of Nursing and plans, develops, organizes, and coordinates the day-to-day functions of the unit.

Key Responsibilities :
Plans, develops, organizes, implements, and directs nursing services for residents on the unit assigned.Ensures compliance with current applicable federal, state, and local regulations and facility policies and procedures.Reviews complaints and grievances made or filed by staff. Makes appropriate reports to the Director of Nursing as required or as necessary.Performs regular audits to ensure clinical documentation needs regulations and facility policies.Collaborates with the Director of Nursing and Physicians to develop, implement, and adjust patient care plans and coordinate resident care.Create nursing / aide assignments.Assist with admissions as indicated.Assist in training nurses and other health professionals.Improve the quality and efficiency of the level of care delivered to patients.Recognize and assist in solving clinical and administrative problems.Supervise care delivery systems to ensure accuracy and consistency.Provide clinical expertise in medical, behavioral, and crisis management.Maintain and restore the health of residents and patients.Act as a main point of contact between residents and their familiesAddressing and preventing concerns from family membersSupervises, counsels, and reports noncompliance with policies, procedures, regulations, or breaches in confidentiality to appropriate personnel.Ensures the unit meets federal and state regulatory standards and company policies and procedures.Evaluates, prioritizes, and meets the care needs of each resident.Ensures an adequate stock of medications, medical supplies, equipment, etc., is always maintained on the unit to meet the needs of the resident adequately and notifies appropriate personnel of needs.Participates in QAPI or facility assessment activities as needed, such as carrying out duties assigned as part of a performance improvement committee.Accepts licensed nurse assignments as staffing needs require. Performs licensed nurse duties as assigned in accordance with facility policies and procedures.Completes assigned portions of MDS. Attends care-plan meetings of assigned residents.Participates in an open and collaborative relationship between the admissions office, both working toward shared facility goals for occupancy and collections.Performs duties daily in the admissions office as assigned by the Admissions Director to facilitate the conversion of referrals to admission status.Communicates with external team members regarding referral status and any additional information needed to assist with the admission decision.Transcribes physician's orders and queries the physician as needed to ensure the accuracy of resident medical information prior to admitting the resident.Reviews and evaluates resident diagnoses and overall condition related to Medicare part A criteria for skilled coverage as well as related to Medicaid medical eligibility criteria for long-term care placement prior to admitting the resident.Assists with processing referrals timely and obtaining prior authorizations daily as assigned by the Admissions Director.Demonstrate the Sun Health Mission and Values.Your Qualifications :
Registered Nurse currently licensed by the State of Arizona OR equivalent combination of Licensed Practical Nurse with experience in managing a post-acute SNF unit.Management experience preferred.Must maintain negative tuberculosis at hire and annually during employment.Flu shot and relevant immunizations are required.Must have current CPR certification. CPR certification must remain current during employment. Clinical Other / BCLS - Basic Life Support Current BLS, PALS and or ACLS.Have a valid Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to obtain required.Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills required.Team Member Benefits :
