Emergency Medicine Travel Physician

UT Health East Texas is seeking a board-certified emergency medicine (EM) physician or a family medicine (FM) physician with EM experience to join our team as a multi-facility floater. This position offers the flexibility to work across multiple hospital emergency departments in Athens, Gun Barrel City, Quitman, Jacksonville, Henderson, and Carthage. Physicians will provide high-quality emergency medical care to a diverse patient population while enjoying competitive pay, flexible scheduling, and CME opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive emergency medical care in multiple UT Health East Texas emergency departments

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a variety of acute conditions, trauma, and medical emergencies

Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, advanced practice clinicians, and specialists

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system

Adapt quickly to different hospital environments and workflows

Ensure compliance with hospital policies, state, and federal regulations

Qualifications

MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school

Board-certified or board-eligible in EM or FM with significant emergency medicine experience

Active and unrestricted Texas medical license (or ability to obtain one)

DEA certification

ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications preferred

Strong clinical and diagnostic skills with the ability to work independently
