Senior Construction Inspector

AECOM is actively seeking experienced Senior Construction Inspectors to join the SR 400 Express Lanes Owner Verification (OV) team in Alpharetta, GA. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a landmark infrastructure initiativeadding two express lanes in each direction along a 16-mile corridor from I-285 in Sandy Springs to north of the Fulton / Forsyth County line. This $4.6 billion project also includes the construction or replacement of over twenty-five bridges and four Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) stations and is managed under GDOT's first Public-Private Partnership (P3) Concession Transportation Project. As part of a collocated team under GDOT's management, the Senior Construction Inspector will play a critical role in construction oversight, materials inspection, and compliance verification. This position reports directly to the Construction OV Manager and offers the opportunity to work on one of the most complex and high-profile transportation projects in the country.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead inspections of roadway and bridge construction activities for compliance with contract specifications.
• Provide specialized inspections and written reports for bridge construction and OV activities.
• Supervise and mentor junior-level technicians performing OV audits and inspections.
• Function as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Developer activities, including remediation and repair reviews.
• Monitor the Developer's on-site construction activities and inspect materials entering into the work in accordance with the plans, specifications, and special provisions of the Developer's Contract.
• Perform oversight inspection, and verification of materials sampling and testing in accordance with the Project's Construction Quality Assurance Program (CQAP).
• Monitor the required sampling and testing of component materials and complete work in accordance with the Department's and Project Quick Guide Schedule and the CQAP.
• Attend pre-activity meetings with the Developer's Contractor and Independent Quality Assurance Firm (IQF).
• Monitor construction progress, quality, and discrepancies; coordinate with IQF to resolve issues.
• Monitor and verify that the Developer's IQF inputs all QA materials sampling and testing information into the Department's Materials database on time.
• Ensure material certification requirements are met for Final Acceptance.
• Perform contract administrative duties and maintain required documentation.
